Cape Town man arrested on charges of bestiality

A Cape Town man is expected to appear in court on Friday on charges of bestiality after a video of him and a dog went viral on social media.

The 23-year-old man from Manenberg was arrested on Wednesday.

 

Cape of Good Hope SPCA’s chief inspector Jaco Pieterse says an investigation was launched following numerous complaints from the public.

 

"When the SPCA received the video footage, we immediately investigated the matter with the assistance of the SAPS. The 23-year-old suspect was then apprehended and arrested.

 

"The dog on the video was also found on the property kept in deplorable conditions, the SPCA has since confiscated the dog and charges of bestiality and animal cruelty has been laid against the suspect.

 

" The man is currently in police custody."
