This after questions arose as to exactly what the police would be doing with the recovered goods.

Police in Gauteng and KwaZulu-Natal are busy seizing what is believed to be millions of rands worth of goods which were stolen in the two provinces last week.

The police use SAPS 13(b) to the second-hand goods dealer upon the confiscation of the illegal/suspected stolen goods and obtain a statement.

Cele says there are specific laws which regulates police conduct once they have seized goods believed to have been stolen.

"Today, there is a meeting between the South African Police Service (SAPS) and the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) to work on this stuff and what happens after the cases have been finalised.

"SAPS 13's are full now, we are trying to get a warehouse where things will be locked and for police to take care of them."

Cele reiterated his warning to looters to return the stolen goods.

"We are thankful to community members that have given us these tips but those who don't give and find them in the rooms and quite several of them put padlocks.

"If we have the correct information, the padlock will not help you, we will still get there and get that stuff going forward."
