Chapman's peak closed on Wednesdays
Updated | By sibahle motha
Chapman's Peak Drive in Cape Town will be closed on Wednesdays for the next four weeks, the Western Cape transport department said on Wednesday.
"Alien vegetation clearing teams of the SA National Parks will be removing vegetation every Wednesday between 9am and 4pm," spokesman Al-Ameen Kafaar said.
The vegetation was being removed to reduce fire risk and give indigenous vegetation space to grow.
"A specialised clearing team will be accessing the slopes above Chapman's Peak Drive using ropes, to cut and treat alien invasive plants infesting the area."
