The State Security Agency (SSA) has laid a criminal charge against author and veteran journalist Jacques Pauw.
It follows the publication of his explosive political exposé, 'The President's Keepers'.
SSA spokesperson Brian Dube says the cease and desist order outlines the legal processes that is open to the agency.
Dube says some sections of the book are in contravention of the Intelligence Services Act.
The explosive book has caused much controversy since its release.
'The President's Keepers' details the alleged tax evasion of President Jacob Zuma.
The State Security Agency has made a second attempt to gag the author.
A second cease and desist order was issued to the editor of the book, Russel Martin.
