'Coalitions not about individuals'
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
The Democratic Alliance (DA) and its coalition partners have made it clear that coalitions are not about individuals but about the collective.
The DA, Cope, ACDP, FF+, and IFP briefed media on Wednesday morning, over the recent budgets passed in Tswhane, Johannesburg and Nelson Mandela Bay (NMB).
"You can't look at one individual in council and draw a conclusion that coalitions don't work across the country, coalitions are not set up so that we deal with an individual," says Maimane.
The coalition road has not been an easy one to navigate, especially between the UDM and DA.
Both parties remain on shaky ground, following the outing of NMB Deputy Mayor, Mongameli Bobani late last year.
However, Maimane remains adamant that scuffles within the coalition will not deter them from serving the poor.
