Colder weather expected in Gauteng, but no snow
Updated | By Eva Chipa
Gauteng could be in for a wet week with a high
probability of rain and thundershowers, although reports of possible snow in
the province are wide of the mark.

South African Weather Service forecaster Lethlogonolo Thobela says from Tuesday, residents can expect showers throughout the day.
“We are expecting very isolated shows and thundershowers over the northeastern parts of the country which are expected to be on and off throughout the day.
“There’s no snow expected for the Gauteng province this week, but we are expecting some snow over high areas of the Eastern Cape and Drakensberg areas.”
“From Wednesday we see a high-pressure system to be dominating over the surface which brings thunderstorms over the Mpumalanga escarpment and the central areas of the Northern Cape.
“This is expected to move east by the evening and includes Gauteng with a 30% chance of showers and thunder showers.”
This will continue all the way through to Friday with the cold front spreading to the east.
