Community targets parents of murder-accused

Police in Limpopo are investigating a case of arson and public violence after members of the community allegedly set the house of a murder suspect's parents alight in Zaaiplaas outside Groblersdal on Thursday evening.
Police spokesperson Moatshe Ngoepe said the family was forced to leave the village following the incident.
"Members of the community are once-more warned to refrain from taking the law into their hands, because that is a serious offence which is punishable by the law," said Ngoepe.
The house of Lolo Madonsela's parents were targeted after he appeared in the Groblersdal Magistrate Court on Thursday on a charge of murder.
He is accused of killing 39-year-old Anna Mashifane.
"It is alleged that on Tuesday, the suspect was found by a passer-by busy chopping up Mashifane, who was his next-door neighbour, and later sucking the blood from the deceased's body at Zaaiplaas New Stands outside Groblersdal," said Ngoepe.
Ngoepe said Madonsela was arrested with an axe in his hands.
Madonsela has been remanded in custody and police investigations are continuing.
