Correctional Services probing foul-mouthed official
The Department of Correctional Services says an investigation has been launched into the conduct of one of its officials.
This comes after a video emerged on social media, showing an official in full uniform using inappropriate and vulgar language in public.
The official’s son was reportedly accused of stealing, after which she launched a foul-mouthed tirade at her son’s accuser.
She claimed the accuser was spreading lies and swore at him.
The National Commissioner of Correctional Services, Makgothi Thobakgale, said the department expects officials to conduct themselves in a professional manner at all times.
“Appropriate disciplinary action will be taken in accordance with our policies and procedures.
“We would like to assure the public that this type of behaviour is not reflective of the values and standards upheld by the Department of Correctional Services. Our goal is to foster a respectful and professional environment among our officials and the general public,” said Thobakgale.
