The order also allows for the freezing of former Tubular Construction Projects CEO Antonio Trindade and his wife’s assets.

The group is facing charges of corruption, money laundering and fraud linked to Tubular Construction Projects’s R1.2-billion contract at Kusile Power Station.

Investigating Directorate spokesperson Sindisiwe Seboka says the ruling confirms a provisional restraint order handed down in July.

“The court is yet to decide on whether to confirm the restraint in respect of Eskom’s former group executive for Group Capital, Abram Masango. The hearing is scheduled to be heard on 4 October,” says Seboka.

“Hlakudi, Trindade, Masango and Kgomoeswana face charges of fraud and corruption in the R745 million criminal case, which the restraint order stems from.”

Seboka says Kgomoeswana faces an additional charge of money laundering.

“One of the accused in both matters Michael Lomas is currently still in the United Kingdom where his extradition hearing will commence on 20 December.”
