Court postpones Corrie Pretorius bail application

The assault case against Corrie Pretorius has been postponed to allow him to secure new legal representation.
Pretorius is facing charges relating to the assault of a 16-year-old at a local food outlet in Groblersdal.
Pretorius was denied bail by the Groblersdal Magistrate's Court in June.
The court ruled that the 49-year-old might be killed if he was released on bail.
The matter was then postponed to 6 September for Pretorius to approach the High Court in a bid to be released on bail.
However, the National Prosecuting Authority spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi says the matter has now been postponed to Friday for him to secure a new legal representative.
"The case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and the pointing of a firearm against Corrie Pretorius was due in Groblersdal Magistrate’s Court. However, Pretorius appeared without his attorney as a result the matter was postponed to until 9 September 2022 for a new legal representative. Corrie is remanded in custody."
