Minister of Environment, Forestry and Fisheries Barbara Creecy has clarified that overnight accommodation for hunters is permitted in terms of the amended level 3 lockdown regulations.
In a statement, Creecy said hunters are allowed to sleepover at their hunting destinations within the province they reside.
"In light of the announcement by the minister of tourism on Thursday, people will be allowed to, amongst others, leave their homes for leisure purposes within the province where they live and make use of accommodation for leisure purposes within their province of residence," Creecy said on Saturday.
She said the new amendments to the Directions for the Biodiversity Sector are aligned with the announcement by the Minister of Tourism Mmamoloko Kubayi-Ngubane earlier in the week.
