DA targets Ramaphosa role in battle against cadre deployment
Updated | By Jacaranda FM
The High Court in Johannesburg will on Wednesday morning hear an application in the DA’s battle against the ANC’s cadre deployment policy.
The DA filed legal papers against the ANC earlier this year in an attempt to have the governing party’s policy of cadre deployment declared unconstitutional and unlawful.
It believes the ANC’s policy to reward loyal members has come at the cost of delivery for the rest of South Africa, and wants the policy scrapped from the ANC‘s books.

The DA’s Leon Schreiber says Wednesday’s arguments will revolve around the role played by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
“The High Court will hold a hearing on the DA’s application to make public complete records - including meeting minutes, documentation, emails and Whatsapps - of the ANC’s cadre deployment committee dating back to 1 January 2013.
“The purpose of the DA’s case is to provide complete transparency to the people of South Africa by exposing the personal role played by President Cyril Ramaphosa, who chaired the deployment committee between 2013 and 2018, in appointing the corrupt individuals who captured and collapsed the state.”
