Diesel stolen at Hazeldene
Updated | By Olivia Phalaetsile

"Work on the Hazeldene sewer overflow was again halted in the early hours of this morning [Thursday] when robbers held up the security guards employed by the City of Cape Town's contractor and stole the diesel that fuels the machinery that is being used to clear the blockage," said councillor Ernest Sonnenberg, mayoral committee member for utility services.
"As a result of this disruption, the road has again been flooded, though fortunately the sewage did not enter any of the houses as it did previously.
"The City of Cape Town condemns in the strongest possible terms the repeated criminal activity, of which the residents of Hazeldene are the ultimate victim."
