Digital Vibes: Six more Health officials to be served with suspension letters

The Department of Health will place six more officials on precautionary suspension in connection with the Digital Vibes tender scandal.
This will bring to seven people the total number of officials within the department who have been implicated by the Special Investigationg Unit report into tender.
The department’s director-general Sandile Buthelezi has already been placed on precautionary suspension.
Health Minister Joe Phaahla briefed the media on Thursday.

He revealed that the department will be serving the remaining six with letters of suspension before close of business on Thursday.
“In this particular aspect of the report there are six officials who the director-general has to take steps against. The other three officials are employed in the other government departments. The acting DG has already been in touch with their heads of departments to inform them what steps we are taking and what steps are expected therefore from those in other departments.”
Spokesperson for the Department of Agriculture Reggie Ngcobo has also been listed as one of the government officials fingered by the report.
