Doctor accused of rape stays behind bars

A medical doctor accused of rape in Limpopo has been remanded in custody following his first court appearance.
52-year old David Chauke appeared briefly in the Nkoankoa Magistrate Court on Thursday.
Chauke allegedly raped a 17-year old girl who was his patient.
The teenager visited the suspect's surgery for a consultation in the Nkoankoa Township.
When the suspect started examining her, he allegedly raped her.
The case has been postponed to the 17th of October for further investigations and a formal bail application.
