Donkeys used to smuggle cars across border
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Police have recovered another luxury vehicle at the border with Zimbabwe.
The suspects had been using donkeys to pull the car through the sand.
Limpopo police spokesperson Motlafelo Mojapelo says the vehicle was about to be smuggled across the Limpopo River.
"A new Mercedes Benz C220 was intercepted just in time before disappearing into Zimbabwe," Mojapelo says.
No one has been arrested.
The suspects managed to evade arrest and fled into the bushes on police's arrival.
Last week, police announced several stolen vehicles destined for Zimbabwe and Malawi had been recovered during an ongoing operation.
Two suspects had been arrested.
