Driver outwits hijackers
A Gauteng couple has narrowly escaped an attempted hijacking outside their home.
Anelle Hills shared her shocking ordeal on Facebook.
The woman from Midrand says they arrived home at around 13:21 on Sunday only to be ambushed at their gate.
In the video, the couple can be seen pulling up to their gate and only moments later a Mercedes Benz pulls up behind them.
Hills says they had returned home from the mall.
She believes her husband's quick thinking is what saved them.
She also posted footage of the attempted hijacking taken from a different angle.
Hills says this is not the first such incident in her neighbourhood.
"Another neighbour called us saying a girl opposite from them was tailgated last night."
She says it was likely not the same perpetrators, as a different vehicle had been used.
