Dudu Myeni axed as SAA chair
Dudu Myeni has been axed as Chairperson of the South African Airways (SAA) Board, along with five other members.
Myeni was reappointed as Board Chairperson at the embattled airline in September 2016 and her contract extended again in August.
The Minister of Finance, Malusi Gigaba says he is satisfied with the new board appointments.
"We are pleased of the appointment of six new members to the Board of South African Airways (SAA), as well as the full slate of non-executive board members at the airline, which have been approved by the Cabinet", says Gigaba.

Myeni has been replaced with Johannes Bhekumuzi Magwaza, while Nolitha Fakude will serve as the Deputy Chairperson and non-executive director.
New Board members who will serve as non-executive directors include Geoff Rothschild, Ahmed Bassa, Tinyiko Mhlari and Mr. Martin Kingston.
Meanwhile the Democratic Alliance (DA) has welcomed the removal of Myeni from SAA's board, however questions still remain.
DA Shadow Deputy Minister of Finance Alf Lees says Myeni has done enormous damage to the airline and finally sense has prevailed and she has been removed.
"However the questions remain on how SAA can be saved, the restructuring of the board will not save SAA", says Lees.
