Duduzane Zuma: Madonsela failed to provide me with an opportunity to tell my version of events
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Duduzane Zuma has questioned what he described as the failure by former public protector Thuli Madonsela to afford him an opportunity to provide her with his version of his events into state capture.
Duduzane, who is the son of former president Jacob Zuma, took to the stand at the commission of inquiry into state capture on Monday.
He has been implicated by former finance minister Mcebisi Jonas and former ANC MP Vytjie Mentor.
According to Jonas’ testimony in August, Duduzane was present when the Guptas offered him R600 million to take up a job as the minister of finance in October 2015.
“From the other side, I also need to ask why my view or my version was not requested at the time. There is emphasis on a time frame, there was media statements raised at the time. The man (Jonas) went on TV and said whatever he needed to say. What I am saying is that this is the first time I am being asked these questions. You don’t see my record in the public protector’s report. Have you asked why?” questioned Zuma.
Duduzane Zuma is also expected to answer questions on testimony given by former Free State Economic Development MEC Mxolisi Dukwana.
