Durban man dies after being impaled on fence
Updated | By ANA
A man was killed on Tuesday after he fell two floors and impaled himself on a metal palisade fence in Warner Beach, south of Durban.
Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said that an awning had come loose in the high winds and the man was called in to repair it.
“We are not really sure what happened, but we understand he put a ladder up there to repair the awning and then he came down.”
The middle-aged man fell onto the fencing that was between the two buildings and one of the spikes pierced him.
“There was a lot of blood. It must have pierced an artery. Sadly he did not make it,” said Botha.
