Earthlife Africa Director Makoma Lekalakala says government needs to do more about SO2 levels in Mpumalanga.
"They should ensure that they no longer allow postponement of minimum emission standards," says Lekalakala.
She adds that the Mpumalanga air pollution crisis is also effecting breathing air in neighbouring provinces.
"The bad air quality that comes from that area also goes out to Johannesburg and other areas of Limpopo"
