Updated | By Algoa FM
The Health Department in the Eastern Cape has confirmed that one of the two men arrested with anti-retroviral tablets worth R1.2 million in the Free State on Thursday is an employee.
Police in Bloemfontein arrested two suspects, aged 33 and 45, at a railway station driving a car with an Eastern Cape registration number plate.
During the arrest, the police confiscated six boxes and two travelling bags with 1086 ARV units suspected to be transported to the Eastern Cape.
Department's spokesperson Siyanda Manana says the 33-year-old, who was arrested alongside a 45-year-old, is an employee at the Robert Mjobo clinic in Lady Grey.
"A pharmacist has been sent to the clinic to verify if the tablets were stolen from there."
