Eastern Cape principal forces pupil to recover phone from pit latrine
Updated | By Heart FM
The Eastern Cape Education Department has suspended the principal of Lututu Junior Secondary School in Ugie in the Joe Gqabi District.

This comes after the principal admitted to coercing an 11-year-old pupil to retrieve a cell phone from a half full pit-latrine toilet.
Spokesperson Vuyiseka Mboxela says the phone fell into the latrine while the principal was inside the toilet.
A video of the incident made rounds on different social media platforms leading to the suspension of the principal.
Mboxela adds the MEC for Education in the province, Fundile Gade, views the incident in a serious light.
"This is one of the incidents that the MEC is firm in taking a decision in what must happen," he says.
"There are other bodies that are part of the education sector, like the South African Council of Educators, that are going to be parties with interest in the incident."
Gade is expected to visit the school on Thursday to monitor the situation.
