The Libode Magistrate’s Court has denied bail to a young traditional healer Thandazani Mcetywa who is facing three charges of murder.
The 27-year-old traditional healer is accused of killing a married couple from Cacadu, formerly Lady Frere, as well as retired police Colonel Bongiwe Fikela.
A spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority (NPA) Luxolo Tyali says Mcetywa was arrested on the 22nd of April following the discovery of the bodies of a man and his wife.
They were found in their vehicle after having consulted with him.
Further police investigations led to the addition of a further charge of murder relating to the mysterious death of Colonel Fikela under similar circumstances.

Tyali says Mcetywa lured his victims on TikTok where he claimed to have supernatural powers to make people rich.
He says the investigation also led to the arrest of Anathi Doris Njikazi who is the niece of Colonel Fikela.
It is alleged that she conspired with Mcetywa to have her aunt killed as she wanted to benefit from the pension money the former police officer would have received.
The matter was postponed to the 30 December.
