EFF holds list conference

The Economic Freedom Fighters' (EFF) list conference is underway in Midrand.
The IEC has set a deadline of 3 June for all political parties to submit their list of candidates.
EFF leader Julius Malema has given the assurance that the party will field credible candidates.
"It's a highly contested election and we hope to emerge victorious...We are going to win all [the municipalities]. We've got obvious targeted municipalities, but I can't say - as a leader - we are focussing on the following municipalities. I'm going to demoralise my ground forces in other municipalities," he said.
Julius Malema says he has received many calls from ANC people who haven't been nominated to be councillors.
Malema, however, is adamant that they will not receive special treatment from the EFF and has advised them to join a branch.
The firebrand leader also said this year's local government election is a straight fight between the EFF and the ANC.
"I don't want ANC people actually. They must go back to the ANC. They've been watching us building the party. Now they can see they're not being counted and then they call us. I don't have respect for such people. Such clear opportunism," he said.
