EFF set to launch LGE2026 manifesto in Limpopo
The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) is set to officially launch its 2026 Local Government Elections manifesto at the Thohoyandou stadium in Limpopo this weekend.
Secretary-general Marshall Dlamini told the SABC on Saturday that they have identified strategic municipalities with the aim to secure victories.
“We need quality leadership, people who understand governance; professionals, people who are qualified to run these municipalities. Remember that as a country we are transitioning, and South Africans are demanding governance.
“We have to resolve the issue of governance. Our people must have access to land.”

The manifesto launch coincides with the 13th anniversary of the party’s existence.
Party president Julius Malema is expected to give the marching orders ahead of the November 4 polls, and also reveal the mayoral candidates for the country’s key municipalities.
The EFF held 10.31% of the overall vote in the 2021 local government elections, amounting to 982 seats in the country’s councils.
North West, Mpumalanga and Limpopo emerged as the Red Beret’s strongholds, with party holding 16.53%, 15,21% and 14.27% party support respectively.
However, the party has had several setbacks since, including major leadership changes and a poor showing at the national polls.
