EFF: We will continue to occupy vacant land

The EFF insists it will continue to illegally occupy vacant land across the country.

Its comments come after the Tshwane mayor lambasted the party for initiating illegal land invasions in Pretoria.

EFF spokesperson Ntobeng Ntobeng says Tshwane Mayor Kgosientso Ramokgopa has "declared war on the Tshwane community".

"It is clear that the mayor and his criminals, the ANC, have declared war on the black community at large," Ntobeng says.

The EFF is committed to its priority programme of land occupation.

"We will occupy vacant land across South Africa, not only in Gauteng. But in this province we will occupy vacant land and vacant flats in the CBD. That is our main programme of action," he says.

Ramokgopa said: "I think the EFF has mastered the art of perpetuating anarchy. I think that if that goes unchecked it is going to undermine order in the country.|

But, the EFF denies these claims.

"The EFF has mastered the art of listening to the people. The EFF has mastered the art of sympathizing with the people. The EFF is not out there to cause anarchy," he says.

"The EFF is there to implement our seven cardinal pillars, this includes land expropriation without compensation. Anarchy is what he is doing now, by sending in his private army to terrorise our people."
