Eight people have been arrested in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, for attempted robbery, Gauteng police said on Monday.
Eight people have been arrested in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, for attempted robbery, Gauteng police said on Monday.
"It is alleged that police received information that a shop at the [Pan African] centre was going to be robbed [on Sunday]," Lt-Col Katlego Mogale said.
"Six suspects got inside the store and two remained inside the getaway vehicles."
Five unlicensed firearms and ammunition were recovered.
The group was expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court soon.
