Eighth child dies after KZN crash

An eighth child has died following an accident in Pietermaritzburg last month, KwaZulu-Natal transport MEC Willies Mchunu said on Wednesday.
"I am very saddened by the passing of Nonzuzo," he said in a statement.
Nonzuzo Zuma, 11, was one of the school children injured when a bakkie overturned and crashed into a house on Edendale Road on January 28.
Seven children under the age of 13 were killed in the crash and 18 were injured, ER24 spokesman Pieter Rossouw said at the time.
Mchunu conveyed his sympathies to the girl's family.
"As government, we would continue to spare no effort to ensure that we improve safety on our roads, including the transportation of learners to school."
