EMPD spokesperson Thabiso Makgato said uncollected vehicles, motorcycles, trailers and caravans (178) would be auctioned.

"The owners of these vehicles are requested to forward their claims of ownership. Failing to claim vehicles, they may be sold in the form of a public auction, and the proceeds derived from this auction will be dealt with as prescribed by the regulations of the National Traffic Act.”

Makgato said the municipality has kept the motor vehicles for more than 120 days.

"In terms of the law, we can sell the vehicle under Regulation 319(1)(2) and 320(1)(2) of the National Road Traffic Act 93 of 1996," she warned.
