Eskom to ease power cuts over weekend
Eskom says it will implement stage 3 load shedding on Saturday due to the recovery of some generation units.
Stage 3 load shedding will come into effect from 5am on Saturday until 4pm.
Thereafter stage 4 load shedding will kick in from 16:00 until 05:00 on Sunday.
Spokesperson Daphne Mokwena says the reduction in the stages of load shedding over the weekend is due to more capacity on the grid.
"Over the past 48 hours, a generating unit each at Camden and Kendal power stations was taken offline for repairs. In the same period, a generating unit each at Arnot, Kendal, Matla and Tutuka power stations was returned to service.”
