Eskom to implement stage 1 and 2 loadshedding
Updated | By sibahle motha
Eskom has announced that it would implement staggered loadshedding on Friday due to increased electricity demand.
Easkom had earlier said there would be no loadshedding on Friday morning, but in a later statement the power utility announced that it would be implementing stage 1 and stage 2 loadshedding.
“The power system was constrained but stable for most of the first half of the day today, thus enabling Eskom to perform maintenance without the need for load shedding,” it said. “However, due to increased electricity demand and a shortage of generation capacity due to power station units being on maintenance, Eskom will implement stage 1 loadshedding from 12-5pm today. Stage 2 loadshedding will thereafter be implemented from 5pm this afternoon and is likely to continue until 10pm this evening.” -ANA
