Eskom moves load shedding back to stage 3
Updated | By Jacaranda FM News
Eskom has announced that load shedding will be moved from stage 2 to stage 3 from Tuesday afternoon until Wednesday morning.
The embattled power utility says stage 2 will continue being implemented from 5am to 4pm daily until further notice.
The utility's spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says this is due to a high number of breakdowns and the need to preserve diesel reserves.
"A generating unit each at Camden and Kendal power stations were taken offline for repairs over the past 24 hours. The delay in returning to service a generating unit each at Arnot, Kriel and Matla power stations has contributed to the capacity constraints.
“A generating unit each at Arnot, Duvha, Grootvlei, Kendal, Kriel, Lethabo, and two units at Majuba power stations were returned to service during this period," says Mantshantsha.
