Eskom: No power cuts on Monday morning
Updated | By sibahle motha
“The power system is currently stable, and this will enable Eskom to perform maintenance without load shedding.”
However, Eskom said the power system remained constrained throughout the day, especially during the evening peak period (5pm – 9pm) because of increased electricity demand.
The power utility urged electricity users to consider energy efficient ways of keeping warm, as the country was experiencing cold weather conditions.
Eskom said the electricity demand peaked in the mornings and evenings in winter. “We appeal to all our customers to continue to reduce their electricity usage throughout the day but to be aware of the need to save more during the peak periods from 06:00 to 10:00 and 17:00 to 21:00.” -ANA
