Eskom set to ease weekend load shedding
Embattled power utility Eskom has announced that stage 4 and 3 load shedding will be implemented throughout the weekend.
Stage 1 will be implemented on Sunday morning.
“Load shedding will be reduced from stage 4 to stage 3 over the weekend with stage 1 loadshedding forecasted for Sunday morning,” the power utility said in a statement on Friday.
Stage 4 loadshedding will continue to be implemented until 5am Saturday morning.
The utility said a generating unit each at Duvha, Kriel and Matla power stations were returned to service over the past 24 hours.
“During the same period a generating unit each at Camden and Kendal power stations were taken offline for repairs. The return to service of a generating unit each at Hendrina, Medupi and Tutuka, power stations are delayed.”
