The power utility was supposed to implement stage 1 load shedding between 4 pm and 10 pm.

Eskom spokesperson Sikonathi Mantshantsha says the suspension of the rolling blackouts is due to the improved performance of its generation units.

"We are working on a full update for the rest of the week and indeed for tomorrow which will be released later.

"There will be no load shedding this evening, we have sufficient generation capacity.”
