Expanded executive ‘bloated, burden on taxpayers’ - EFF
Updated | By Anastasi Mokgobu
The EFF has labelled President Cyril Ramaphosa's new cabinet as “bloated and costly to taxpayers”.

The president announced his new executive at the Union Buildings on Sunday evening, the first under the new government of national unity.
Former opposition parties were handed 12 out of 32 portfolios, while the ANC kept 20 out of 32 cabinet positions.
They included key ministries such as foreign affairs, finance, defence, justice and police.
Ramaphosa added two ministries to his cabinet, a move the EFF believes was made to appease the DA.
The former official opposition will have six ministers and six deputy ministers.
EFF spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys says the government of national unity is merely an excuse “for the ANC to collaborate with the DA”.
"The announcement by Cyril Ramaphosa confirms that the ANC has abandoned its historical role as a liberation movement in Africa and has solidified its role as an instrument of white supremacy and both domestic and global capital on the continent."
Mathys believes the new government roles handed to the DA “surpasses compromises made in 1994”.
"These positions empower racists to enforce regressive and neo-liberal policies that favour market fundamentalism and profit maximisation by corporate and financial sectors, at the expense of the poor black majority.
"The remaining so-called 'GNU' members are reduced to mere spectators, legitimising the ANC's pact with racists and their political agenda dictated by the Oppenheimers and Ruperts.
"The EFF stands by its decision to refrain from joining what it perceives as self-subjugation by political parties, where the interests of the white capitalist establishment overshadow their own significance.”
During his announcement, Ramaphosa lauded the new national unity government as unprecedented.
"The incoming government will prioritise rapid, inclusive and sustainable economic growth and the creation of a more just society by tackling poverty and inequality as well as unemployment," he said.
