Family to oppose bail of suspects in Cloete murders
The family of Louis and Ina Cloete will present evidence to the state to oppose bail for the suspects linked to the murders.
Two men appeared in the Vuwani Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Monday following the killing of Louis and Cloete on their farm in Levubu on Thursday.
Louis, 74, and 66-year-old Ina were robbed and attacked, and burnt beyond recognition after their farmhouse was set alight by the suspects.
The suspects, aged 18 and 20, ransacked the house and stole several items including firearms.
The Cloete family's spokesperson Fanie Havinga says they will present evidence to the state in a bid to convince the prosecutors to oppose bail.

The suspects are expected to return to court on 11 May after indicating their need for legal aid.
“Farmers will, with every court appearance, appear in our masses. The brutality that accompanies farm murders is shocking and it hurts communities. It is not like people died of natural causes and you can mourn.
“These are nonsensical murders, these people have been taken from our communities. That’s why we need to make sure that the suspects face the full might of the law.”
