At the time of his death Ngcobo was doing his fourth year in Sports Management at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) and heading up an events management company.

It is the latest in a series of violent incidents involving metered taxi drivers and drivers of taxi-hailing apps.

His aunt, Nobuhle Mbonambi, says the culprits must face the full might of the law.

"The people who killed him need to be behind bars and serve their sentence until it's complete. It cannot be that they get into prison and then two months later they back again on the streets."

The exact circumstances surrounding Ngcobo's death is still being investigated.

Mbonambi says Ngcobo had big dreams.

"He liked to hang around with his friends, every weekend he had different friends over. He liked to dress well and smell good, however he was also very focused on his events management company which he started last year at TUT. He had a lot of things he was planning for this year as well."

Mbonambi has started a campaign, called #JusticeForSiyabonga, which she hopes will help land the killers behind bars.

She believes law enforcement agencies could do more to quell the deadly violence between metered taxi drivers and e-haling services.

Gauteng Transport MEC Ismael Vaid and Community Safety MEC Sizakele Nkozi-Malobane are expected to visit the family on Wednesday.
