Four people, accused of being involved in a farm attack in Thabazimbi, where a 60-year-old woman was killed, appeared in the Thabazimbi Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, Limpopo police said.
Dickson Moyo 31, Amos Munyau 26, Rebecca Monyeki, 38 and Silas Ndlovu, 44, faced charges of murder and house robbery, said spokesperson Colonel Ronel Otto.
The four were arrested in Diepkloof, Soweto on Monday. Two of them, Monyeki a domestic worker and her husband Ndlovu, were employees at the game farm.
The attack happened two weeks ago, when Bruno Res, 70, was shot in the arm and his wife Magrieta Petronella Res, 60, was shot in the head when they were overpowered by three people at their game farm.
“The couple were welcoming a female friend at their farm when they were overpowered by unknown suspects. They demanded the safe keys before locking all three in a store room,” Otto said at the time.
“In the process, the deceased was shot in the head and her husband in the arm. The suspects fled the scene,” said Otto.
Otto said firearms were taken from the house safe.
The case was postponed to October 8 for further investigation, and the suspects all remained in custody.
