Final Eskom tariff decision in December

The National Energy Regulator of South Africa (Nersa) will make a final decision over Eskom's electricity tariff increase at the beginning of December.

Eskom applied for a 19.9% price determination that would see an increase of the electricity tariff in the 2018/2019 financial year.
Nersa spokesperson Charles Hlebela says the decision would be made on 7 Decemner 2017.

"We are still busy with public hearings which started yesterday in Cape Town and we plan to finish on the 16 and 17 of November in Gauteng", says Hlebela.
The Energy Regulator has received more than 23 000 responses in regards to Eskom's electricity tariff.
