Former DA member Nkele Molapo ‘determined to clear my name’ as she heads to court

Last week, the organisation's Gauteng chairperson Mike Moriarty announced Molapo was expelled from the party.

The decision followed allegations that Molapo leaked Tshwane caucus information to Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema.

Molapo believes the federal legal council and appeals processes hearings were politically-motivated and had a pre-determined outcome.

"Without going into the merits of the case, I will be approaching the courts, and I feel I have a better chance of winning there,” she says.

Molapo has also recently accused the DA’s interim Gauteng leader and former Tshwane mayor Solly Msimanga of sexual harassment.

She says she does not want to be reinstated as a member of the DA, but merely wants to clear her name.

"As I speak to you I'm no longer a member of the party, it is just a matter of clearing my name.”

She refutes claims by Moriarty that her actions led to the weakening of the party in the province.
