Four in court for possession of stolen vehicle and ammunition

”[On Saturday] the team received information that a luxury sedan that was hijacked in November last year in Cleveland, Johannesburg, was seen in the Tembisa area. They eventually spotted the suspected vehicle along the Olifantsfontein Road with two occupants,” said spokesman Lieutenant General Solomon Mogale.
”The vehicle was found to have been fitted with false registration numbers and a fraudulent disc. Police found a 9mm pistol, 13 live rounds ammunition and an empty R5 magazine after searching the vehicle.”
Mogale said the driver of the vehicle took the police to a house in Tembisa where the R5 firearm was found.
The occupant of the house and his fiancé, were also detained.
”The National Investigating Unit team, which has been investigating robbery incidents in the province, including airport robberies, has been notching up notable successes in their fight against organised crime. The unit prioritises, amongst others, those investigations where the latest suspects may be linked to hijackings and robberies elsewhere,” Mogale said. -ANA
