Four injured in East Rand blast
Updated | By Bronwyn Hardick
Four men were critically injured after an apparent explosion at a power station on Monday night in Rondebult, Boksburg on the East Rand, paramedics said.
"All the information that was gathered [suggested] that it was some form of explosion while the men were working on a transmitter," ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said.
Jackson said the four men were badly burnt and they sustained other injuries from shrapnel coming from the transmitter.
The cause of the accident was not known.
One of them was airlifted to Milpark hospital and the other three were taken to the Life Glynnwood hospital.
