Four suspects have been arrested after a teacher was shot and wounded during a brazen robbery at a primary school in northern Durban.
Seven armed men arrived at Buhlebethu Primary School in Durban on Wednesday, posing as parents.
According to police spokesperson Thembeka Mbhele the suspects said they were looking for a place for their child at the school and requested a meeting with the principal.
"Yesterday, just before two unknown suspects went to the school and talked to the security and pretended as if they were looking for a space for one just child, a learner. When the security was still busy talking to them a teacher emerged just walking past, that's when he was attacked and robbed of a cell phone and shot twice.”
Mbhele confirmed that the teacher remains in a critical condition in hospital.
