Updated | By Karabo Tebele
The South African Weather Service has warned of freezing temperatures in large parts of South Africa from Tuesday.
Cold, sub-polar weather condition is expected to hit most parts of the country.
Weather forecaster Lulama Theme says only Limpopo and Mpumalanga will remain cool.
"Tomorrow, because of the cold front that will be moving to the north-eastern parts of the country, the eastern part of the country, which is the Lowveld of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, will be cool.
"But the remainder of the country is going to be cold tomorrow (Tuesday).
"Pretoria is expecting a maximum of 15 degrees Celsius, Johannesburg is expecting a maximum of 13 degrees and Vereniging 13 degrees as well."
Colder temperatures are expected to drop even further the following day.
"Again, to Wednesday, the temperatures are still dropping, and it will be a bare minimum that will go to minus for Gauteng, North West, as well as outside of Mpumalanga," adds Theme.
The weather service says the weather will start warming up again on Thursday.
