Friends, colleagues say farewell to Matshoge
Updated | By Maidi Monareng
Hundreds of mourners gathered at the Jack Botes Hall in Polokwane on Wednesday to pay tribute to the late Limpopo MEC of Agriculture, Joy Matshoge.
Matshoge was killed in a car crash on the N1 near Mokopane at the weekend.
Matshoge's daughter, Kgontse, said her mother was a caring woman.
"To my mother, I do not know how to carry you in my soul and I'm not selfless enough to release you," Matshoge said as she struggled to hold back tears.
Colleagues described her as a hard working professional.
Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Bheki Cele said Matshoge was passionate about her ideas.
"She never added numbers in a meeting. She was not just a plus, she had ideas and she always put those ideas forward," Cele said.

Matshoge will be laid to rest in her hometown of Modimolle on Saturday.
