FULL LETTER: Advocate Teffo returns to Senzo Meyiwa trial
Updated | By Sibahle Motha
Advocate Malesela Teffo, who represents four of the five accused in the Senzo Meyiwa murder trial, says he will return to court when the case resumes in August.
Teffo called it quits in June, accusing the court and the NPA of undermining him.
He has now written a letter to the High Court informing it of this decision to continue as the accused’s legal representative.
"Be informed that I am not going to withdraw in this matter and give the State undeserved due. We have since resolved my withdrawal issue with the relevant stakeholders in this matter and I am still the Defence Counsel for accused 1 to 4," he says in the letter.
Teffo, who represents Muzi Sibiya, Bongani Ntanzi, Mthobisi Mncube and Mthokoziseni Maphisa, shocked the country when he withdrew from the high-profile trial.

He cited harassment from both the state and the court as a reason for his withdrawal.
The trial against the five men accused of killing the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates captain will return to the High Court in Pretoria next Tuesday.
They have been charged with premeditated murder, attempted murder, armed robbery, illegal possession of a firearm and the illegal possession of ammunition.
