[FULL STATEMENT] Ramaphosa: State capture must never, ever happen again
African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa begun his testimony at the commission of inquiry into state capture on Wednesday morning.
In his opening statement, Ramaphosa defended cadre deployment as a widespread policy used throughout the world, but at the same time admitted not all people appointed were “fit for purpose”.
Ramaphosa said while the vast majority of ANC members are vehemently opposed to corruption, the ANC did not always live up to its values and principles.
