Further increase in Covid-19 recovery rate
South Africa has recorded yet another increase in the country’s national Covid-19 recovery rate.
According to statistics released by Health Minister Dr Zweli Mkhize, the rate of recovery from the deadly coronavirus has increased to 87% in the 24 hours leading to Tuesday evening.
The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases stands at 627 259, while recoveries have also increased to 549 993.

However, the number of deaths continue to climb.
A further 114 Covid-19 related deaths were recorded over the 24-hour cycle, bringing the total number of fatalities to 14 263.
Furthermore, 1 218 new infections were recorded over the same period.
